AHA 2023 — Investigator Dr Dike Bevis Ojji (University of Abuja, NG) talks with Late-breaker host, Dr Harriette Van Spall (McMaster University, CA) about the Hypertension Treatment in Nigeria Program (NCT04158154).

The aim of this study (Washington University School of Medicine) and employing an interrupted time series design, is to assess the implementation and evaluation of a culturally- and contextually-adapted intervention package based on the Kaiser Permanente Northern California and World Health Organization HEARTS programs for diagnosing and treating hypertension in primary health centers in Abuja, Nigeria. The study enrolled 57,600 participants over the age of 18 with elevated blood pressure measured by a healthcare professional.

Recorded on-site at AHA Scientific Sessions 2023, Philadelphia.
